A Very Happy Birthday to Wallace Shawn (Nov 12th) who appeared in a single Stargate SG1 episode playing a character called “Arlos”, the episode was the season nine story “The Ties That Bind” He has guest starred on Eureka, DS9 and GossipGirl but I think we all came to know and love him when he played Vizzini in The Princess Bride. IMDB
Yesterday (Nov 11th) saw the birthday of David DeLuise one of the many members of that family who graced the Stargate sets, he played Pete Shanahan the erstwhile suitor of Sam Carter with it has to be said some success. David had a starring role in Wizards of Waverly Place and a recurring role on 3rd Rock from the Sun.
This is Cindy the new kitty in Alan’s life, she and her sister were just given a new home and well it looks like he is getting more than he bargained for with a Goa’uld kitty 🙂
Thor returns to Earth and picks up the frozen Jack and the cool Tealc and heads to the new Asgard homeworld in the hopes that the Ancient knowledge held in Jacks head will help devise a defence once and for all. Meanwhile Fifth is playing mind games with Sam both to punish her betrayal but also venting his own immature rage against the one that spurned him. A showdown is imminent and armed with technology created by Jack who once revived has no real idea what it is or how it works the defence of the Asgard begins even if it means sacrificing Sam.
New Order Part 2 was aired as a separate episode in the UK but was part of the feature presentation of the season opener in the states. We have three stories ongoing all of which get a decent amount of screen time both to develop and for the characters to play their part, the Asgard find a solution to their long term problem with the replicators, Sam is saved although released is perhaps a more accurate term and the system lords and by extension Ba’al are put aside for another day. The request for asylum by Camulus comes out of the blue and of course Goa’uld rarely do anything that doesn’t serve a purpose, we’ll find out that purpose in due time.
It’s like looking in a mirror
New Order Part 2 is a very satisfying conclusion to the season premiere, we get solutions to the problems which make some sense while setting up potential problems in the future. The changes in the SGC and SG1 are significant but again they make a lot of sense especially given RDA’s limited time on set during the last season and saving the planet is a young persons game:)
The SG spin off – Pete & Sam by a Farm

Many happy returns to the following five people who all have their Stargate Birthday on the 10th of November, Roland behind the camera with Vanessa, Vitaly, Britt and David in front of it.
Happy Birthday to Vanessa Angel who played the Tok’ra Anise/Freya in three Stargate SG1 episodes she also starred in the movie Kingpin and series Weird Science.
Many thanks and happy birthday to Roland Emmerich who directed the Stargate feature back in 1994. A true showman in the movie world.
Best wishes to Britt Irvin who as a youngster played Merrin on the episode Learning Curve and later appeared on the new series of V and Smallville.
Happy birthday to Vitaly Kravchenko who played Lt. Marchenko one of the first Russians through the Stargate in “The Tomb” he’s also been in the last Mission Impossible movie and True Justice.
Finally many happy returns to David Paetkau who played “Pender” in the Stargate SG1 Forsaken also starred in Flashpoint, Whistler and LAX.
A very special happy birthday greeting to Teryl Rothery on the 9th of November as she celebrates her birth a day she shares with Gabrielle Miller.
Teryl played Dr Janet Fraiser in 75 episodes of Stargate SG1 and without a doubt become one of the most loved characters in the show despite not getting the same amount of screen time compared the main cast. Teryl has gone on to appear in Hellcats, Smallville, KyleXY and The Guard as well as a number of TV movies.
Happy Birthday to Gabrielle Miller who only made the single appearance as “Thetys” in the Stargate SG1 Brief Candle. She has starred in Alienate, Corner Gas and Robson Arms.
It was announced yesterday that Ben Browder (SG1, Farscape) will be making a guest appearance on the new CW show Arrow in the role of Ted Gaynor. It was also tweeted that Ben was currently on his first day on set, lets hope this provides him with a recurring part of the smash hit series for the network. Ben has guest starred on a number of shows genre and not so much since his regular role on Stargate came to an end, these include Chuck, CSI Miami and Dr Who.
There have been a handful of people who have had far more than their fair share in shaping the Stargate franchise, setting aside Jonathan and Brad who created the television show and Rob who came onto the show for the second episode onwards the group gets even smaller.
Today the 6th of November we are celebrating one of these guys birthdays namely Mr Peter DeLuise, writer, actor, producer and all round good guy and lets not forget a shining example of how to share the limelight with friends and family:) IMDB
Happy Birthday Peter, many thanks for Stargate as well as Seaquest, 21 Jump Street and so many other roles on our favourite shows in and out of the genre.
You know this is how he always sees himself:)
Let us not forget two more actors who have appeared in Stargate but alas many are eclipsed by Peter’s shadow so happy birthday to Paul Perri who played Dr Woods in the Stargate SG1 episode “Frozen” and David Pressman who played a Lieutenant in the original Stargate feature.
This week on NCIS we had a brief appearance of a personal favourite of mine, Julie McNiven guest starring in the 30th Oct episode “Namesake”. We’ve seen Julie in a handful of Stargate Universe episodes as well Supernatural, House and Fringe. Always a pleasant surprise to see a familiar face in a show you were unaware they were in:)
Happy Birthday on the fourth of November to Victor Favrin who was the wonderfully zombiefied rebel “Chalo” in the Season 7 Stargate SG1 double episode Evolution. IMDB
Also on the fourth Ken Kirzinger celebrates his birth, he played a barman in the SGA episode “The Kindred” and was a stuntman on the SG feature Continuum. IMDB
Last but not least a happy birthday to David Lovgren who appeared in two episodes of Stargate SG1 – Bounty and Threshold as well as the SGA episode Inquisition, He has also been in Psych and Smallville. IMDB
A hand crafted Stargate silver ring with sapphires. It’s pretty, shiny and pricey but you ain’t gonna find this in your local high street trinket store:) VaLa Jewellery
Thanks once again to @atlantistvrufor tweeting the link.
Here we have Claudia Black guest starring the November 2nd episode of Haven “Magic Hour” on the US Syfy channel. I’m not going to give anything away but it was a to be continued so maybe more of Claudia next week:)
On a slightly different tack we are now on the eighth season of Stargate SG1 which is when Claudia makes her first appearance in the show.
