I’m finally watching Primeval New World as I mentioned earlier in the week and just finished episode ten “The Great Escape” and along with some of the more regular actors who turn up we get three former Stargate names appearing in this specific episode.

Fantastic to see Dan Payne sans all the armour he usually wore on Stargate playing Major Douglas and Adrian Holmes reprises his role as Detective Harlow and finally Eric Breker plays Sergeant Macready.

Yes I know we are always a few days behind but that’s the global television market, timezones and well truth be told only so much time in the day to watch telly be it series, movies or documentaries.
Anyhow I watched this weeks Castle last night knowing that Alexis Cruz was going to guest star
and he got a meaty role playing Lyle Gomez in the 7th episode of the sixth season entitled “Like Father, Like Daughter”.

Random Acts of Romance directed by Katrin Bowen is going to be screened at the Carlton Cinema in Toronto on November 8th. General release dates both domestic and overseas have still to be revealed but from the trailer this looks like it’s going to be a fun movie and we’ll see Amanda is a different type of role as well one or two other former Stargate performers.

Catching up with the latest episode of Arrow this afternoon and while I knew David Nykl would be appearing in this season I did not know it was in the episode “Crucible” which aired in the US last week so once again a whoop of delight to see him on screen, not easily recognisable and of course the accent is different to his normal voice and that of Zelenka but always a pleasure to see him work.  IMDB  Twitter  Official Site

It’s also good to know David will be appearing again and in a named character rather than just “the Russian” and despite a few misgivings the second season is holding up well although without the in your face impact of the first season when Arrow was really a major breath of fresh air into the TV superhero genre.  Arrow Official Site

It always comes as a pleasant surprise to see a familiar face appear on the television, I try to avoid casting news which is pretty much impossible these days so a huge grin appeared when Teryl Rothery appeared in the recent episode of Arrow “Broken Dolls” as “Jean” the hired gun attorney for the Queen family.Arrow_TR1

How great was it to see Alaina Huffman return to Supernatural and looking spectacular and being wonderfully wicked, who knew a bus drivers uniform would look that good on her, lets face it they are not tailored for aesthetic appeal:)
Alaina made three appearances in the eighth season of Supernatural and touchwood we’ll see more of her in this ninth season which airs on the CW Tuesdays nights.

Stargate TV Spot – Heather Doerksen

Well I guess depending upon when the DVD, Blu-ray and streaming options appear in your country the spot could be regarded as TV and just not a movie spot but Pacific Rim is out in the US already and in about three weeks out in the UK. So if you look closely and ignore the bleached short hairdo you’ll see Heather Doerksen playing Lt. A. Kaidanovsky one of the Russian Jaeger pilots which in my book is a step down from Captain Pat Meyers an F-302 pilot and bridge/helm officer of the Daedalus in Stargate Atlantis but what you gonna do:)

Spooksville is a new television series based on the novels of the same name written by Christopher Pike and brought to the small screen by writer Jim Krieg. You may ask why this is important to us and the answer is simple, Jacqueline Samuda who played Nirrti in Stargate SG1 will be appearing in the show as the character of Mrs Waverly and at least one other familiar face from Stargate will play a small part in the series.

The show premieres on Saturday the 26th of October on the HUB Network.

Stargate TV Spot – Beau Bridges

I hadn’t heard anything about The Millers so it came as a pleasant surprise to see Beau Bridges starring as Tom in the pilot which aired on CBS on the 3rd of October. The show has a very good cast with Gregory Thomas Garcia behind the scenes who wrote and produced Raising Hope and My Name is Earl. Beau has recently had small recurring roles on White Collar and Franklin & Bash and a change of pace in a comedy sitcom could be just the thing to get him on the small screen more often.
It’s been a while since he was at the helm of Stargate Command as General Landry
The show gets it’s UK premiere on the 14th of this month on Comedy Central.
