I watched the six episodes from the live action series Metal Hurlant Chronicles adapted from the comic book and was pleasantly surprised to see our own Joe Flanigan in the final episode “Master of Destiny” playing Hondo. He co-stars with the ever gorgeous Kelly Brook and together they do kinda spread chaos throughout the galaxy in an impressive montage. As with all the Metal Hurlant stories there is a twist and even when you can see it coming the stories are still entertaining and short enough to simply watch whenever you have a half hour to kill.

The Blu-ray and DVD of the first season can be bought from Amazon France.

Danielle Nicolet in a pictorial for Regard Magazine, it’s a pity her latest show “Family Tools” didn’t survive it’s time slot on ABC but I’m sure she’ll be back on screen in no time but for now behold isn’t that a great picture without the tackiness of other sets from the more titillating mainstream publications.

I watched Blazing Saddles on Blu-ray last night and I have to admit the scenes with Dom DeLuise as the director of the musical are just too funny in an already hilarious movie. Dom of course guest starred as Urgo in the Stargate SG1 episode errr Urgo and his boys have also played their part in the franchise.

I was catching up with this weeks genre television and watched the ninth episode of Defiance entitled “I Just Wasn’t Made for These Times” which featured Brian J. Smith as Commander Gordon McClintock. Brian starred in Stargate Universe and also recently appeared in Warehouse 13 and Person Of Interest.

This was an interesting episode but once again highlights how little back story the TV only viewers have been offered, I’ve heard the game provides a lot more but the majority I suspect will not buy and play the game or even go out their way to research background info which should be in the show in the first place.

This is Sasha Pieterses latest song called R.P.M. and you may recall she played Grace in the Stargate SG1 episode of the same name. she’s come a long way since being a child actor including starring on Pretty Little Liars and appearing on Heroes.

I’m currently watching the A&E drama Bates Motel and I noticed Ben Cotton’s name in the opening credits so I was pleased to see him turn up later in the eighth episode, not a big roll as Danny but he does do annoying and sarcastic so well:)

Bates_BC Ben has recently appeared in Defiance and The Killing.

Many congratulations to Michael Shanks for winning the 2013 Leo Award for Best Lead Performance by a Male in a Dramatic Series for Saving Hope. Also congratulations to Agam Darshi for Best Supporting Performance by a Female in a Motion Picture (Crimes of Mike Recket), Ian Tracey Best Supporting Performance by a Male in a Television Movie (Ring Of Fire) and Gerard Plunkett Best Supporting Performance by a Male in a Motion Picture (Camera Shy). A good day for performers who have previously starred and guest starred within the Stargate franchise.

Louis Ferreira guest starred in “Surprises” the season four premiere of the Canadian cop drama Rookie Blue which aired on the 23rd of May, the episode picks up roughly 6 months after the season three  finale which saw two of the “rookies” go undercover. I’ve been watching the show since it began and following Missy from her stint on Reaper and of course Ben Bass who has guest starred in a single episode of Stargate SG1.

Louis is really making an impact as a guest star on some good high end dramas as well as starring in the excellent Motive, another reason why a return to the Stargate franchise seems further away for many former stars who are having success with other shows. No airdate yet for the UK.
