Louis Gossett Jr who played the Jaffa Gerak in season 9 of Stargate SG1 celebrates his birthday today the 27th of May. He also starred in the Iron Eagle series and alongside Dennis Quaid in a little scifi flick called Enemy Mine, not to forget the awesome An Officer and a Gentleman, his IMDB is quite extensive.
Also on the 27th Tyler McClendon who played Kenny the Wraith in 6 episodes of Stargate Atlantis celebrates his birth.
Congratulations to the Stargate Universe makeup department comprising of Rebecca Lee, April Boyes and Ceilidh Dunn for their 2012 Leo award for the episode Epilogue.
Sanctuary won 3 awards for Visual Effects, Production Design and Costume Design and Pascale Hutton won Best Guest Performance for the episode Fugue.
;
All in all not too shabby for the scifi genre although even in Canada the more generic dramas are ruling the roost.
A very happy birthday on this day (26th May) to South African born Musetta Vander who appeared in two episodes of Stargate SG1 the first as Shan’auc the Jaffa priestess in Crossroads and then as her alternate safe Shauna in The Changling. A beautiful woman who alas we did not see enough of but given she died in the first episode and a delusion in the second well what can you do:)
Here is some very cool Sam Carter artwork by Sean Tourangeau, he has worked a lot in the Scifi field especially Trek and is now branching out into Stargate.

Happy Birthday to Tahmoh Penikett who guest starred in the Stargate SG1 episode “Unnatural Selection” as Third the replicator but more familair from BSG, Dollhouse & recently Castle.
Every actor has to start somewhere and for most it’s advertising but the eyes and the smile have not faded over time:)
A very happy birthday to Kavan J Smith for Sunday 6th May.
Kavan has guest starred and had recurring roles on numerous scifi genre shows and tv/dvd movies, he always delivers a fun performance and right now is one of the great characters on Eureka. He also comes across as both a guy you would be very happy to drink with but also to keep away from your sister or even gf/missus, he’s too good looking by half.
Stargate SG1/Stargate Atlantis: Major Evan Lorne
Eureka: Deputy/Sheriff Andy
BSG: Lt. Richard ‘Buster’ Bayer
Sanctuary: Joe Kavanaugh/Cavanaugh
The 4400: Jed Garrity
Also on the 6th Carlos Lauchu who played Anubis in the Stargate theatrical movie celebrates his birthday.
“A shooting in the heart of Stargate Command is only the beginning for Daniel Jackson and Vala Mal Doran. Suddenly it’s friend against friend, none of their allies can be relied upon and they’re the universe’s only hope to foil the latest scheme concocted by the last System Lord, Ba’al.
Will Daniel, Vala and a few of Vala’s less than savoury friends be enough to stop a conspiracy that reaches deep into the heart of Stargate Command and threatens to destroy everything they’ve spent years building?”
What more could you ask for than Michael Shanks, Claudia Black and Cliff Simon performing the only Stargate we are going to get for a while. There is a trailer on the site so have a listen and imagine a world where the TV franchise is alive and well.
Stargate SG-1 Series 3: Part One – Stargate – Big Finish
Kneel before Brad Wright the maestro behind the Stargate TV franchise.
Brad celebrates his birthday today (May 2nd). He co-created Stargate SG1 (with Jonathan Glassner) and then went onto to co-create Atlantis and Universe both with Rob C Cooper. He is Canadian which we don’t hold against him (joking:) ) and his early work includes The Outer Limits and Poltergeist The Legacy. He produces, writes and on two occasions acted in front of the camera.
Condolences and respect to the friends and family of Joel Goldsmith the creator of the vast majority of the music used in the Stargate franchise who passed away yesterday (29th April) at the far too early age of 54. He was the son of the respected composer Jerry Goldsmith (Trek Composer) and his vision of Stargate has helped make the show what it is today.

Could this be a long abandoned Tok’ra base discovered by the Tau’ri in the land of Scot?
