Amazon in the US are currently offering the 10 season DVD boxset of Stargate SG1 for a great value $54.99 with their usual deals on free p&p and prime status. If you don’t already own the series on DVD and already have the two movies or not that bothered then under $6 a season is a bargain.
I can not see any time frame for this offer but prices change often on Amazon.

A very happy birthday to Lexa Doig who played Dr Carolyn Lam in the final two seasons of Stargate SG1, she is married to Michael Shanks but we won’t hold that against her:)
Lexa is currently featured in the new scifi series Continuum and her resume is rich in the scifi genre from SG1 through Andromeda, The 4400 and Tekwar. Guest roles on Smallville, V and the dramas Arctic Air and CI5 bulk up an already impressive resume.
Also on the 8th of June the British actor Alan Scarfe celebrates his birthday, a familiar face on scifi shows when the need for a character actor arises. He guest starred in the Stargate Atlantis episode “Poisoning The Well” as Chancellor Druhin as well appearances on Babylon 5, Andromeda and Kingdom Hospital.

June the second is a very monumentous date for Stargate birthdays.
The darling of Firefly and more recently The LA Complex Jewel Staite celebrates her birth today, she guest starred in the Stargate Atlantis episode “Instinct” as Ellia under heavy prosthetics and then returned to the show as the cast regular Dr Jennifer Keller.

Sharing the second of June the queen of Firely and recently V and Homeland Morena Baccarin is celebrating her birthday. She had a recurring role as the nemesis of the milky way galaxy “Adria” and made an awfully big splash for only appearing in a few episodes (and Ark of Truth) but was pivotal that seasons story line. The first day of June provides two notable birthdays, the first is Patrick Gilmore who played Dr. Dale Volker in Stargate Universe he also appeared in both SG1 and Atlantis. To add to his scifi credentials he also gust starred in Battlestar, Defying Gravity, 2012 and Fringe.
Up next is Rene Auberjonois famed for his role in Deep Space 9 as Odo or maybe if you are older as Clayton Runnymede Endicott III in the sitcom Benson. However for our needs he played the slightly right of centre Alar in the SG1 episode “The Other Side”.
