Joseph Mallozzi on his Weblog covered the official announcement of the cast for the upcoming Syfy summer 2015 series which was revealed yesterday.

It’s looking pretty good, familiar faces from Stargate and the scifi/fantasy genre certainly won’t hurt.

Ben Browder is starring in the movie Dead Still playing Brandon Davis who inherits and old camera and the people he photographs begin to die, this should be fun 🙂 The movie will be airing on the US Syfy channel on October the sixth as part of their annual Halloween season.

The 2nd of October is the anniversary of the US premiere of Stargate Universe which made it’s debut on the Syfy channel back in 2009 with “Air” parts 1 and 2. A change of pace and direction for the franchise but retaining it’s well established high production values and excellent casting choices with established actors, fresh faces and one or two more familiar from roles on SG1 or SGA.

As we know the series failed to retain enough of the existing fanbase and generate a whole new group of fans to survive more than two seasons, there are many reasons for it’s failure but for me the show after a stumbling start really came into it’s own in the second half of the first season and with stronger stories and more humour in the second season really gained the right to be considered along SG1 and SGA as part of the family something Infinity failed to do.

Crimson Force is another science fiction movie from Syfy UK which has been sitting on my DVR for quite a while, I watched it this morning and not only do we have Steven Williams (General Vidrine  SG1) but Tony Amendola himself wearing more gunk than he ever did as Bra’tac.

I watched the Syfy “b” movie creature feature Tasmanian Devil today and spotted four former Stargate actors in good meaty roles. Up first is Terry Chen (SG1), then Mike Dopud (SGU, SG1 and SGA), Roger R. Cross (SG1) and finally Scott McNeil (SG1).

I watched this movie today and it was great fun if you like that sort of thing and you know that I do:)
For the purposes of Stargate there were a few familiar faces such as Steve Bacic (SG1 Camulus / Major Coburn), Aaron Douglas (SG1 Jaffa / Moac) and David Lewis (SG1 Cameron Balinsky).
There was also Andrew Dunbar (SGU Cpl. Gorman) and Daniel Boileau (SGA Cocoon Victim) who both had smaller roles in this Syfy Saturday feature.
