A very happy birthday to John Scalzi a creative consultant on Stargate Universe and of course a respected author of works such as the acclaimed Red Shirts.

We never got to see Enrico Colantoni return to Stargate as Burke but for those of us who watched him play Keith in Veronica Mars he will be returning:)
WE Vancouver – Amanda Tapping Interview.
A heartfelt and frank interview with Amanda at her joy on the birth of her daughter Olivia and heartache over a number of miscarriages before and after. A truly inspiring and honest view of a problem that many women and couples have to deal with and one which could be more easily handled within a more open and honest society.
A Very Happy Birthday to Patrick McKenna who played Dr Jay Felger in two episodes of Stargate SG1 (The Other Guys & Avenger 2.0). He also appeared in The Red Green Show, Robocop the series, Sidekick, Spliced and Best Ed.
Birthday Best Wishes to David Winning who directed the Stargate Atlantis episode Childhoods End as well as a number of episodes of Andromeda, Earth:Final Conflict, Blood Ties and Dinotopia.
Many happy returns of the day to Kavan Smith who was Major Evan Lorne in both Stargate SG1 & Stargate Atlantis, he also has recurring roles on Eureka (Andy) and on the new series Rogue as well as guest spots on Smallville, Buffy and The 4400.
Happy Birthday to Carlos Lochu who played Anubis in Stargate the movie, he also guest starred in Spy Hard, Baywatch and wrote/produced Sutures.
Mr. Hockey: The Gordie Howe Story has now aired in both the US and Canada the two nations which would recognise the man’s pedigree and status plus both big Hockey nations, the question of the movie crossing the pond has still to be answered. It does however come to Blu-ray as a Walmart exclusive on May 7th and a general release on the 9th of July so opportunity for all to see Michael Shanks in a role he seems to have embraced and may do more for his status than Stargate or Saving Hope.
I’m a couple of weeks behind on my Hawaii 5-0 viewing so only caught Robert Picardo’s guest spot on the show last night in the episode Olelo Pa’a, a small role but hints of more to come or maybe that’s wishful thinking. It’s a pity the show has taken the CSI Miami mantel for being ridiculously over the top and at times cringe worthy because the cast is good, production high and it looks/sounds beautiful.
Happy Birthday for the fourth of May to Jesse Moss who played Lt J. Hibbard on the Stargate SG1 episode Rules of Engagement. Jesse has also appeared on ReBoot, Whistler, Ginger Snaps, The Collector, Jeremiah and Continuum.
As rogue system lords retreat into previously exploited regions of the galaxy the Tokra inform the SGC that one world is soon to be retaken and that is where they left Harry Maybourne to live out his days, obviously he has an in depth knowledge of the Earth and the SGC so SG1 pay him a visit. It isn’t that much of a shock to find Harry has become the King to this small community thanks to his ability to translate Ancient writings which foretell future events, by saving the population from a flood he earned their thanks and the belief he is a seer and thus worthy of their almost worship like devotion.
It’s Good to be King is the final tale in the Harry Maybourne journey from being a highly suspicious military and intelligence officer with links to the NID and other devious goings on through a time as a rogue operative almost mercenary until eventually aiding Jack and the SGC albeit with a few bumps in the road. Despite the objectionable state of affairs on the planet it seems that Harry has overall been a very positive influence on the community and maybe he’s finally found his place in the galaxy.
The added bonus of this story is that once again we get Jack putting on his glasses and strapping on the P90 and going off world and like it or not Jack and Harry have great chemistry and the humour comes through with flare and style. The discovery of the Ancient puddle jumper and the time device lays the groundwork for the season finale as well as tieing into the Atlantis storyline in “Before I Sleep” which works wonderfully. Sam, Teal’c and Daniel all contribute well to the episode despite not being the focus of attention and the two main guest actors perform well in their roles.

The very best of birthday wishes for May 2nd and many thanks to Brad Wright for creating Stargate SG1, Atlantis and Universe. He has also worked on The Outer Limits, The Odyssey, Highlander and Poltergeist The Legacy.

Always a pleasure to see a former Stargate actor appear on television, in this case Cliff Simon has a small role with dialogue in this weeks episode of NCIS called “Revenge” which I have just finished watching.
Enjoy and if you like it then pay the SF Debris site a visit, watch some more and let Charles know you like his work:)
