Great to see Rick continuing with his character “Rudy Hopkins” into the fifth season of The Vampire Diaries. Rick only made a brief appearance on Stargate SG1 as K’tano in the episode “The Warrior” but had much longer recurring roles on Battlestar Galactica, Heroes, Enterprise and Murder One. He’s also had guest spots on Castle, NCIS, Eli Stone, Voyager, DS9 and Boomtown.
Julie McNiven (Stargate Universe) talks to Geek Speak about her work in and out of genre telly.
Rick Worthy who played K’tano in the Stargate SG1 episode The Warrior currently has a recurring role on The Vampire Diaries playing Rudy Hopkins aka Bonnie’s father. Rick has also appeared in Battlestar, Enterprise, Heroes, Voyager and Supernatural.
I watched Supernatural and Arrow this afternoon and got a healthy dose of two former Stargate actors, the first is Alaina Huffman who played Lt. Tamara Johansen in Stargate Universe as well as Dinah Lance (Black Canary) in Smallville. She played Josie Sands in the Supernatural episode As Time Goes By which aired on Wednesday the 30th January.
My next pleasant surprise was seeing Janina Gavankar in Arrow playing the cop McKenna Hall in the episode Vertigo which also aired on the 30th. Janina is a regular in True Blood and also appeared in The Gates but for our purposes she played Sgt Dusty Mehra in the excellent Stargate Atlantis episode Whispers.
If you don’t want to know anything or at least nothing beyond what has been written then don’t watch but this is just a network promo which is airing in the states right now.
