Yep it’s that time of the week again and I’ve just watched the latest episode of Motive “Reversal of Fortune” and we got three former Stargate actors in prominent guest roles. Lets begin with Agam Darshi (SGA & SGU) who played Ginelle Mercier the tarot reader who was central to the events in the story, Josh Blacker (SGU & SGA) was playing a client of hers a Mr Martin Porterman and finally David Lewis (SG1) who was in the arc element of the series as Sergeant Gavin Saunders.
Once again Motive delivers a story that you can see going one way but eventually coming out as something very different, nicely done.
Liam Ranger
Liam played the young Nevin in the Stargate SG1 episode Revisions and has also appeared in The Collector, Alienated, White Chicks and Uncaged Heart. IMDB
Of course we watch Once Upon A Time and while I don’t think the current story arc holds a candle to what has been presented in the past come on who doesn’t like dalmatians? Anyhow in the episode “Sympathy for the De Vil” we get some of the back story for Cruella and her mother Madeline is played by Anna Galvin who graced Stargate SG1 in the episode Collateral Damage and then she was in the Atlantis episode Remnants and finally four episodes of Universe playing Mrs Armstrong.

It is always a pleasure to watch television when Tim Guinee is going to make an appearance so delighted when he turned up in the episode of Forever “The Night in Question” playing Teddy Graves a Federal court judge. If you have been following the series the part played by Tim doesn’t directly affect the main arc but certainly vastly improves the episode as it weaves into the search for a certain individual.

I’ll admit I got a little buzz when a credit for Danielle Nicolet appeared during the opening of the latest episode of The Flash “Who Is Harrison Wells?” after all I’ve been a fan long before I even really knew her name after her guest spots on Third Rock from the Sun but then put the name to the face when she played Reese in the excellent SG1 episode Menace. Danielle is playing the DA for Central City so touchwood the character could become at least a semi-regular given that the story is opening up on the acceptance of meta humans amongst the public and law enforcement.

The Ancients built a geothermal operation on the seabed and as the jumper searches for it tensions rise, yeah the are we there yet cliche is in full force but not to worry the complex is revealed but Teyla is uneasy, she senses something but no life signs beyond those that came down in the jumper register. She convinces Elizabeth to allow to her meditate to see if she detect a Wraith presence and well the results are not good, Ronon gets a good old ass kicking and there are power outages galore. Teyla is corralled and has no memory of what she had been doing but then the scanners detect a Wraith cruiser on the seabed and now it’s Queen is roaming the complex and picnicking on the scientists who don’t seem to realise the danger they are in, at least for a short time. The Queen is captured but she reveals that she has set her ship to self destruct, the thousands of years of being alone has caused her to roll the dice for all or nothing and the clock is ticking.
Submersion is an interesting episode, it paves the way for a major event in the finale so certainly serves a purpose but seems like it was a little rushed but saying that the redressing of the sets to give us the Ancient drilling platform worked very well. We got some good Rodney moments and Teyla got to see some action and how rare is it to see Ronon so beaten and so quickly, granted he really wasn’t expecting to but still. It’s always great to see how the makeup and effects departments picture the latest Wraith Queen once again played by Andee Frizzell, maybe not as aesthetically pleasing (depending upon your point of view) but certainly a more slimy and aquatic feel, the long shots of her swimming certainly seemed to indicate quite large feet assuming they were not flippers.
This weeks promo was for Beyond the Wall a Game of Thrones podcast from SpecFic Media and next week we are going to watching the Stargate SG1 episode Dominion in which we see the return of Adria, not many more SG1 episodes left 🙂

Yes another week and another new episode from the third season of Motive which presented us with guest starring roles for two former actors from Stargate in the episode Pilot Error. We’ll begin with Jody Thompson who played the pilot Bridget Vinton who appeared just the once on Stargate SG1 in the episode Bounty and again on Atlantis in the episode Vegas. Sonja Bennett played Chelsea Richmond in Pilot Error and we last saw her on Stargate Atlantis as Dahlia Radim.
Pilot Error was a good episode, a few twists from the main story and some underlying menace from the arc with ongoing flirtation between Oscar and Betty and the question mark over Oscar and his condition.
