A very happy birthday on March the sixth to Victor Garber who was Ambassador Ovirda in the Stargate Universe episode “Seizure” as well as starring in Alias and the current series Deception, he has an impressive movie and tv resume.
Happy birthday to Alvin Sanders who played Fred in the Stargate SG1 episode “Holiday”, he has had guest roles on Fringe, Smallville and MacGyver and we have an unconfirmed birthday for Michael Greenburg, long time producer for Stargate SG1, MacGyver and Legend, he’s also written for SG1.

Continuing the trend of strong women in modern genre television is Jill Wagner who will be celebrating today. Jill played the Traveller “Larrin” in two episodes of Stargate Atlantis as well as having a lead role in Blade the series and a recurring role in Teen Wolf as Kate Argent. IMDB

A very big bunch of birthday wishes to Michael Shanks as we celebrate his birthday today (15th December). Michael took on the role of Daniel Jackson in the premiere of SG1 “Children of the Gods” and had an almost uninterrupted run via Atlantis through to Stargate Universe.
Lets not forget he’s currently starring in Saving Hope which returns next year with it’s second season and he has had notable guest roles on 24, Smallville and Burn Notice. There are also one or two scifi/creature features in the mix for which we thank him:)

A very happy birthday to Torri Higginson who played Elizabeth Weir in Stargate Atlantis/SG1 and also starred in the TekWar series. She had guest roles on Chase, NCIS, The English Patient, Stonehenge Apocalypse and has done voice work with Big Finish.

We have five actors celebrating their birthdays on October 30th.

First up is Leon Rippy who has had a long and respected movie and tv career including recurring roles in Deadwood, Saving Grace, Leverage and Alcatraz. He played General West in the 1994 Stargate movie. IMDB

Michael Beach is celebrating as well, he has been in ER, Third Watch and Sons Of Anarchy and played Colonel Abe Ellis in Stargate Atlantis. IMDB

This past week (Oct 7th -12th) we’ve seen three former Stargate actors appearing in major genre shows.

First up is Tony Amendola who is playing the recurring role of  “Marco / Geppetto” in Once Upon A Time. Up next is Paul McGillion with a little prosthetic enhancement guest starring in Fringe as “Edwin Massey” and finally Michael Kopsa also in Fringe as the bad guy for the season the Observer Captain Windmark.

Oh yes today we have an actor celebrating his birthday today (Oct 13th) who was a cornerstone of the franchise. Happy Birthday to Christopher Judge who played the strong and silent Teal’c in 211 episodes of SG1, Continuum and Ark of Truth as well as a guest spot on Atlantis. Hiro Kanagawa also celebrates, the Japanese born actor has worked extensively in the US tv market including shows such as Sliders, Cold Squad, Smallville, Caprica and the new Arrow series. Happy Stargate Birthday (September 1st) to Michael Adamthwaite who played Her’ak the first prime of Anubis for five episodes of Stargate SG1 during it’s sixth and seventh seasons. Michael has done the usual rounds of Canadian genre television but has really left his mark doing voice work on Anime productions released for the western markets.

Two Stargate alumni celebrate their birthdays today (22nd).

From SG1 we have Michael Kopsa who played two roles in the show the first as a news anchor in the episode “There But For The Grace Of God” and then General Kerrigan in “Proving Ground” and “Prodigy”.

We then have Jennifer Spence who played Dr Lisa Park in 36 of the 40 episodes of Stargate Universe.
