A very big bunch of birthday wishes to Michael Shanks as we celebrate his birthday today (15th December). Michael took on the role of Daniel Jackson in the premiere of SG1 “Children of the Gods” and had an almost uninterrupted run via Atlantis through to Stargate Universe.
Lets not forget he’s currently starring in Saving Hope which returns next year with it’s second season and he has had notable guest roles on 24, Smallville and Burn Notice. There are also one or two scifi/creature features in the mix for which we thank him:)

This past week (Oct 7th -12th) we’ve seen three former Stargate actors appearing in major genre shows.
First up is Tony Amendola who is playing the recurring role of “Marco / Geppetto” in Once Upon A Time. Up next is Paul McGillion with a little prosthetic enhancement guest starring in Fringe as “Edwin Massey” and finally Michael Kopsa also in Fringe as the bad guy for the season the Observer Captain Windmark.
Oh yes today we have an actor celebrating his birthday today (Oct 13th) who was a cornerstone of the franchise. Happy Birthday to Christopher Judge who played the strong and silent Teal’c in 211 episodes of SG1, Continuum and Ark of Truth as well as a guest spot on Atlantis. Happy Stargate Birthday (September 1st) to Michael Adamthwaite who played Her’ak the first prime of Anubis for five episodes of Stargate SG1 during it’s sixth and seventh seasons. Two Stargate alumni celebrate their birthdays today (22nd).
From SG1 we have Michael Kopsa who played two roles in the show the first as a news anchor in the episode “There But For The Grace Of God” and then General Kerrigan in “Proving Ground” and “Prodigy”.
We then have Jennifer Spence who played Dr Lisa Park in 36 of the 40 episodes of Stargate Universe.
