It’s Marina Sirtis Birthday today (March 29) and while she is perhaps the face of TNG she gets her mention on The Gatecast for her portrayal of Svetlana Markov in the SG1 episode “Watergate” complete with appropriate accent.
While TNG played up her curves the Stargate producers put her in a furry parker.

Steve Bacic who played Camulus & Maj Coburn on SG1 and he also appeared in Andromeda, BSG & Smallville. Also this day Noah Beggs who played Dex in SGA and a guard in SG1 celebrates. Kiara Hunter has a birthday today and she played the Alien Princess in Wormhole X-Treme.
Happy birthday to Rick Worthy who celebrates his birth today (12/3). He played K’tano in the SG1 episode “The Warrior” and had reoccurring roles in Battlestar Galactica and Enterprise.
Birthday wishes to Peter Stebbings who played the Tok’ra Malek in two episodes of SG1 ( Cure & Allegiance ). Both of us were more familiar with his work from the earlier Jeremiah television show but he is certainly still a working actor having appeared in The Listener and the movie Immortals in the last year.
The 26th of February is the day James “Bam Bam” Bamford celebrates his birthday and to many his name and face will be unfamiliar but he is one of the unsung heroes of the Stargate franchise. A stunt man, co-ordinator and actor he worked a little on SG1 but made his mark on Atlantis and Universe as well as doing work on Sanctuary and Flash Gordon. Happy Birthday James.
Many happy returns to Barclay Hope who guest starred in six episodes of Stargate SG1 in the eighth and ninth seasons playing Colonel Lionel Pendergast. Amongst his credits are spots on Defying Gravity, Smallville, Battlestar Galactica and Eureka.
Many happy returns for today (20th) to Louis Ferreira who celebrates his birthday. He starred in Stargate Universe as Colonel Everett Young a very different leading character compared to those in the previous series calling for a different range of acting skills. Many happy returns to two very familiar face from the Stargate franchise. The first is Garry Chalk who played Colonel Chekov in 10 episodes of SG1, very much the counter part to Hammond but with the Russian sensibilities. Up next is Lou Diamond Phillips who played the rather complex Colonel David Telford on Stargate Universe, happy birthday guys:)
Happy birthdays to Brandy Ledford and Mitchell Kosterman on the fourth both of who played two roles in the Stargate franchise. Brandy was in an episode of SG1 and SGA with Mitchell’s three spots all in SG1 including the episode “Heroes”.
It’s the daddy of them all, happy birthday to Richard Dean Anderson born this day Jan 23rd 1950.
He brought us McGuyver then eclipsed that with Jack O’Neill under the Stargate banner, thanks for everything RDA it’s been great and looking forward to you continuing to dip into TV now and again.
Sharing the 5th of January as their birthdate is Paul McGillion who starred on Stargate Atlantis as Dr Carson Beckett and continued in the tradition of the franchise in bringing us well respected Doctors and in Scifi in general. His performance helped make Beckett a leading role in the show thanks to the positive fan response from the pilot.

Our best wishes to Joe Flanigan today (the 5th) on his birthday (born 1967) and our thanks for his exceptional work on Stargate Atlantis playing John Sheppard. We’ve seem him guest star on Warehouse 13 and Fringe recently as well as TV movies Ferocious Planet and Change of Plans but we want more.

Happy Birthday to Michael Shanks, we watched the actor and his character grow for well over a decade and branch out into other genres and productions. Guest roles on Sanctuary, Andromeda, Smallville, Burn Notice plus many a scifi/fantasy feature sealed Michaels place in our part of the world.
