The final episode of the first half of the SGU season aired a few days ago in the UK and last week in the US and it was pretty darned good, some major plot points below without giving away any spoilers.

  • The death of a recurring character
  • Suspicion falling on a major player
  • Backstabbing and conflict between the military & civilians
  • Cliffhangers

Justice was well paced and well written with the whole cast playing a part and thankfully no Comm Stone element which for many is a blessing, I do actually think they have been used a little too much early on but then again some of the stuff like Telford and Young has worked very well.

We’ve a long wait for the next episode to see exactly how the major and minor cliffhangers are going to be resolved and it’ll be interesting especially off the back of the lowest ratings of the season how the audience is maintained over the next few months.

  1. The show has certainly split the existing fanbase and yeah Rush and RC are too important which takes away some of the “shock” element which we got when the two people were left behind earlier.

  2. I actually didn’t like this episode all that much. For once, I think they *should* have used the stones to bring in proper lawyers and a judge, and a forensic analyst or two. I mean, sure they won’t have equipment but there’s no doubt that just having experience would have helped determine the cause of the murder.

The entire final … I’m going to guess 10 minutes … was 100% predictable. From the point that Eli called Young in to see the Kino footage, I knew every step that was going to be taken BEFORE it was taken.

(obfuscated to hide a spoiler. Don’t read it too closely until you see the episode)
And of all the planets to leave someone on, they just happened to do it on *that* planet. And of all the people, they had to leave the one person who would benefit from *that* planet the most. Gee I wonder how that person will spend the mid-season break?
