I’ve started the second season of Eureka and yes I’ve finally got the blu-ray boxset down off the shelf and enjoying this quirky and funny piece of scifi adventure. I watched the first season over the recent holidays and just watched three episodes of the second season this evening and apart from some of the regular and recurring cast members who have guest starred on Stargate there were three more that had meaty guest roles and are worth mentioning. So in the episode Try, Try Again (S2E2) we had Barclay Hope (SG1) playing General Mansfield and Vincent Gale (SG1 & SGU) playing Dr Todd and in Unpredictable (S2E3) David Nykl (SG1 & SGA) was Dr. Steven Whiticus and Patrick Gilmore (SG1, SGA & SGU) was Pete Puhlman.

So two familiar faces appeared on my television while I was playing catch up with the recently broadcast episodes of Supernatural and Psych. The first was Dan Payne a stalwart of the Stargate franchise albeit usually not playing an out and out human which strangely enough was the case in the Supernatural episode “Road Trip” and he defied my recent view that facial hair equates to evil:)
The second was Patrick Gilmore playing a character named Patrick who has a run in with Shawn and Gus early on in the Psych episode S.E.I.Z.E. The Day. Always a delight to see anyone from Stargate both from in front of the camera and behind practicing their craft.

Not everyone can pull off a “form fitting” outfit but Patrick Gilmore does it with style in the latest episode of Continuum “Second Skin” Season 2 episode 4 in which he plays mild mannered Rex who gains access to a high tech suit. Patrick played Dr Dale Volker in Stargate Universe and lets not forget that the woman in the screencap is Carrie Fleming who was in the Atlantis episode The Sentinel. Carrie is guest starring in Second Skin as Tammy the girlfriend who finds the suit and she has also appeared in Supernatural, Alice, Good Luck Chuck and The 4400.
